La Jolla Cove 42 Shore PlayWent to Peter Lik’s photo gallery in La Jolla on Saturday.  Peter does some amazing nature photography and last year one of his prints sold for a million dollars. I figure that I need to study what he’s doing and apply it to my business model.   After leaving the gallery, I went down to the beach to shoot some beach scenes at sunset.  This was my first visit to La Jolla cove and I wasn’t expecting the large crowd of people there for sunset.  At least half a dozen wedding photographers shooting brides, grooms and entire wedding parties, and there were two weddings going on besides.  Lots of young lovers sitting on the cliffs or walking hand in hand along the beach enjoying the sunset. Then there were the tourists!  Foreign tourists…hundreds of them.  You’d think it was the Grand Canyon or something.  I can’t tell you how many times people would hand me their cameras and in broken English try to ask me to take their picture.  Good thing nobody ask me to take a picture with their cell phone.  I hate taking pictures with cell phones.  It was fun people watching, but I had come to the beach with one purpose.  To capture the ocean playing with the shore.
